Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)
What is BHRT?
Unfortunately, as we age, our hormones become unbalanced and often lead to unwanted, sometimes life-altering side effects. If this is you, please believe that there is help out there.
At The Rejuvenation Station, we hope to provide you with all of the essential information you need to make an informed decision regarding your overall wellness.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a treatment that uses hormones that are chemically identical to those naturally produced by the body, they are often derived from plant sources like wild yams and soy to help balance hormone levels. It is commonly used to alleviate symptoms of hormonal imbalances related to aging, menopause, and andropause (male hormone decline).
What does BHRT include?
Typically, BHRT includes estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and
thyroid hormones.
What symptoms can be associated with fluctuating hormone levels?
- Hot flashes/night sweats
- Fatigue and low energy
- Mood swings, anxiety, or depression
- Brain fog and memory issues
- Low libido
- Weight gain
- Sleep disturbances
- Loss of muscle mass and bone density
- Bloating
- Joint pain
- Headaches/migraines
- Digestive problems
- Vaginal dryness
- Pins and needles sensation
- Itchy skin
- Dry eyes and mouth
What is the difference between BHRT and HRT?
Both aim to relieve hormone-related symptoms. Unlike traditional hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which often uses synthetic or animal-derived hormones, BHRT is derived from plant sources (soy or yams) and designed to be structurally identical to human hormones. Because BHRT more closely resembles the body’s natural hormones, patients may experience fewer side effects than with HRT. BHRT can also be adjusted to each patient’s unique needs, making the overall adherence and efficacy more attainable.
Where does The Rejuvenation Station get their BHRT from?
The hormones we prescribe are compounded medications. Compounding pharmacies specialize in
creating customized bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) formulations tailored to
individual patient needs. Unlike mass-produced, commercially available hormone medications,
compounded BHRT is personalized based on hormone levels, symptoms, and patient preferences.
Utilizing a compound pharmacy allows for allergen-free and preservative free options. Compounded
hormones are not FDA-approved, but are prepared following USP (United States Pharmacopeia)
standards.
At The Rejuvenation Station, we only use PCAB (Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation
Board) pharmacies which have high standards in purity, potency, and sterility to ensure your safety.
How is BHRT administered?
BHRT is available in multiple forms to fit your needs.
- Creams/Gels: applied to the skin for steady absorption.
- Patches: Provide controlled release but require consistent application.
- Pills: Convenient but metabolized through the liver.
- Injections: Often used for testosterone and some estrogen formulations.
Who can benefit from BHRT?
- Women in perimenopause and menopause are experiencing hormone fluctuations.
- Women with PCOS.
- Men with low testosterone (Low T4) experiencing fatigue, low libido, and muscle loss.
- Individuals with adrenal fatigue or thyroid disorders who need additional hormone support.
What is the process for starting BHRT?
Meet with your provider to assess symptoms and medical history.
- Obtain lab testing for hormone levels, which is crucial for tailoring BHRT.
- Follow-up appointment for lab review and selecting the right BHRT treatment for you.
- Monitoring and adjustment in 6-8 weeks, then every 3-6 months based on symptom relief and
lab values. - Implement lifestyle changes such as nutritional support, exercise, and stress management.
How long will it take for me to experience improvement in symptoms?
Your BHRT experience will vary based on your unique treatment plan and how your medication is
administered. It can take time for your body to adjust to hormone therapy. Some patients may
experience subtle changes within the first few weeks, but full benefits may take longer. Most patients
feel significant symptom relief within 4-8 weeks as hormone levels stabilize and by 3-6 months, patients
typically experience the full effects of BHRT. The long-term effects of BHRT can include anti-aging and
protective properties on the brain, bones, skin, and cardiovascular health.
While BHRT can be beneficial for many individuals, it is not suitable for everyone. It is very important to
discuss your complete medical history and stay up to date with recommended health screenings to
ensure your safety throughout your wellness journey with The Rejuvenation Station.

Medical Weight Loss
We will create unique plans that can be tailored to your needs to help facilitate weight loss and help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. Any of these options will need to be combined with proper diet and an exercise plan. Before starting a medical weight loss program with The Rejuvenation Station you will need to have a thorough conversation with your provider regarding your medical history, current medications, and overall expectations to potentiate your success.
Buproprion/naltrexone
Buproprion/naltrexone is a fixed-dose combination medication for the management of chronic obesity in adults in combination with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. This drug combo is not for everyone, so please make sure you discuss with your provider your complete medical history, social history, and medication use.
Given as an oral tablet. Gradually increased over a span of several weeks.
Sermorelin
Sermorelin (Peptide therapy) is a growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) analog that stimulates your body’s natural production of human growth hormone (HGH). As we age, HGH levels decline – contributing to slower metabolism, increased body fate, reduced energy, and poor sleep. Sermorelin offers a safe and effective way to naturally reverse these changes and support weight loss and overall wellness.
It is ideal for adults experiencing age-related weight gain, fatigue, or difficulty losing weight despite diet and exercise. It’s also a great option for patients who want a natural, hormone-balancing approach to long-term weight management.
This is often given as a SQ injection 5/7 nights with a meal.
MIC Injections
MIC Injections can enhance physiologic processes potentiating fat loss and increasing energy. MIC (Methionine, Inositol, Choline) injections are often combined with B12, are a blend of nutrients and lipotropic compounds designed to support weight loss, boost metabolism, and enhance energy levels.
MIC injections are administered 1-3 times a week as an intramuscular injection and can be a powerful complement to your personalized weight loss plan. They’re especially helpful for those struggling with stubborn fat, sluggish metabolism, or low energy during their weight loss journey.
MOTS-c
